Have I made the wrong choice?

If you have been wanting to go to this school for along time, then I believe you should still go. If you want to work in magazine journalism it is not too late for you, once you are in college look for internships at magazines to give you hands on experience. Going to a good school will only better your chances to do what you want to do. If you are serious about this career and you work hard and find good internships you will be fine. Once you are about to graduate college you'll be putting together your resume to find a job and you will have graduated from a good school, with good grades, great internships that have given you good job experience and that shows a potential employer that you really want to work for them (magazine) since they will be able to see your track record of progression. I know lots of people who graduated college with a certain degree and realized their senior year of college what they actually wanted to do which was different from their degree and still made it happen for them. You are fortunate enough to already know what you want to do, so you can make the choices that will help you achieve your goals. Good luck- everything will be fine.
