yes and no, i am asian who spend most life here in us, so i know from most us parents perspective, your parents are probably being too harsh. But personally, i think you are lucky that you have parents that push you this hard, you must heard of that much condemned book " the battle hymn of tiger mum" where amy chua explain the philosophy behind her tough parenting style, and that is short term pain, long term gain. and believe me, when you got accept into an ivy league college and go on to have high flying career after that ,you'll be thanking your parents for all the financial freedoms you'll enjoy then, just my two cents.
