How often should you be able to be caught breaking the speed limit?

I think it should depend on how fast you are going, ie. 6 points for 20 - 30 over the limit, 3 for under that. A ban should come in if you over the limit by 30 mph, even if it is a short ban say 1 month to make it inconvenient. But motorway speed limits should be higher.
