Help! sav. monitor stuck!?

my savanah monitor and i went to the bathroom to get some time to play around and i put him on the ground and he found a small hole in my cabinet about 1 1/2 and about 2 inchs thick so hes basically in a box.. will i be able to get him out im scared he may die there.. any suggestions to help get him out? Will he be able to get out him self? as you all know he is cold blooded and it does get pretty chilly please help..
