Why is human trafficking so big in romania & ukraine? I am referring to and slave labor?

I am more concerned about slave labor, but I am just wondering why this is so big in these countries, what are the specific contributing factors? is it history? other than the unstable foreign judiciary and weak economy, etc? Would appreciate any help, thanks so much.
